    Building an Archive with Saada

    Saada transforms a set of heterogeneous FITS files or VOTables of various categories (images, tables, spectra ...) in a database without writing code. Databases created with Saada come with a rich Web interface and an Application Programming Interface (API). They support the four most common VO services. Such databases can mix various categories of data in multiple collections. They allow a direct access to the original data while providing a homogenous view thanks to an internal data model compatible with the characterization axis defined by the VO.     Does BLEU Score Work for Code Migration?

    Statistical machine translation (SMT) is a fast-growing sub-field of computational linguistics. Until now, the most popular automatic metric to measure the quality of SMT is BiLingual Evaluation Understudy (BLEU) score. Lately, SMT along with the BLEU metric has been applied to a Software Engineering task named code migration. (In)Validating the use of BLEU score could advance the research and development of SMT-based code migration tools. Unfortunately, there is no study to approve or disapprove the use of BLEU score for source code. In this paper, we conducted an empirical study on BLEU score to (in)validate its suitability for the code migration task due to its inability to reflect the semantics of source code. In our work, we use human judgment as the ground truth to measure the semantic correctness of the migrated code. Our empirical study demonstrates that BLEU does not reflect translation quality due to its weak correlation with the semantic correctness of translated code. We provided counter-examples to show that BLEU is ineffective in comparing the translation quality between SMT-based models. Due to BLEU's ineffectiveness for code migration task, we propose an alternative metric RUBY, which considers lexical, syntactical, and semantic representations of source code. We verified that RUBY achieves a higher correlation coefficient with the semantic correctness of migrated code, 0.775 in comparison with 0.583 of BLEU score. We also confirmed the effectiveness of RUBY in reflecting the changes in translation quality of SMT-based translation models.     Determinants Influencing Quality of Finance and Accounting Education: The Case Study of Vietnam

    The quality of undergraduate program in general and in the discipline of finance and accounting in particular is one of the big concerned issues in society. For a long time, Vietnam has trained a large number of bachelor students which exceeds the real needs, especially in the field of economics. In the dimension of this study, we investigate the impact levels of determinants on quality of financial and accounting education in the context of the 4th Industrial Revolution. Data were collected by receiving questionnaire feedbacks from students of Trade Union University of Vietnam. By employing the tests of Cronbach’s Alpha, exploratory factor analysis and multivariate regression, the results show that four determinants including (i) role of trainers, (ii) innovation of the training program, (iii) applying information technology; (iv) and social behavior skills of students influence positively the quality of education in the field of finance and accounting.     FPT HCM University Parental Attitudes and Behavior Towards their Children's ``Coming Out''

    The research team carried out a study of parental’ attitudes and behaviors towards their children’s ”coming-out” and gender identity. The study was conducted in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam with a group of respondents who are parents of the FPT students. The study was conducted through quantitative methods using questionnaires modified from previous qualitative studies of the researchers. The results show that the group of respondents had low rates of shock or devastation because of their children’s sexual orientation, but they still had a worried attitude. While their behavior is largely non-violent towards their children, they still try to encourage their children to conform to the biological sex they were born with. Parents are also more inclined to accept their children’s sexual orientation if society and its laws accept it. The research results have and will contribute to the implementation of many campaigns and activities related to the topic of LGBT parents and children.     Social Media Affects the Attitudes of FPT Students From the LGBT Community Towards Coming Out to Their Parents

    This study aims to determine the factors from social media and crowd psychology among individuals, a group, or communities on social networks that affect the attitudes of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) students at FPT University in Ho Chi Minh City toward coming out to their parents. The research desires to determine whether there is any difference in terms of year of admission, major, and the frequency of social media use. The research method is quantitative research (survey - using questionnaire). The sample size of the survey is 154 LGBT students; All respondents are studying at FPT University Ho Chi Minh City. The results showed that searching for information and digital coming out are the two factors that have the most substantial impact on the attitudes of LGBT students at FPT University in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) towards disclosing their sexual orientation to their parents

    EvoluCode: Evolutionary Barcodes as a Unifying Framework for Multilevel Evolutionary Data

    Evolutionary systems biology aims to uncover the general trends and principles governing the evolution of biological networks. An essential part of this process is the reconstruction and analysis of the evolutionary histories of these complex, dynamic networks. Unfortunately, the methodologies for representing and exploiting such complex evolutionary histories in large scale studies are currently limited. Here, we propose a new formalism, called EvoluCode (Evolutionary barCode), which allows the integration of different evolutionary parameters (eg, sequence conservation, orthology, synteny …) in a unifying format and facilitates the multilevel analysis and visualization of complex evolutionary histories at the genome scale. The advantages of the approach are demonstrated by constructing barcodes representing the evolution of the complete human proteome. Two large-scale studies are then described: (i) the mapping and visualization of the barcodes on the human chromosomes and (ii) automatic clustering of the barcodes to highlight protein subsets sharing similar evolutionary histories and their functional analysis. The methodologies developed here open the way to the efficient application of other data mining and knowledge extraction techniques in evolutionary systems biology studies.     Pre-treatment potential of electro-coagulation process using aluminum and titanium electrodes for instant coffee processing wastewater

    This study aimed at investigating the potential of electrocoagulation (EC) process using Al-Al and Al-Ti electrodes for the pre-treatment of instant coffee processing wastewater. Effects of various operating conditions, including cell voltage, time of treatment, inter-electrode distance, pH of solution, solution conductivity and agitation speed on the removals of chemical oxygen demand (COD) and color were considered. The maximum removal of COD and color was achieved at 87% and 99%, respectively, corresponding to COD and color in the effluents of 359-384 mg/L and 58-101 Pt-Co. Biodegradability of treated wastewater was significantly improved since BOD5/COD increased from initial value of 0.42 to 0.65 after treatment. Nether mixing nor adding of electrolyte was recommended. Moreover, the COD removal kinetics during EC process appeared to follow the first-order kinetic model. The operating costs were also determined as a reference for cost assessment of the treatment
